“Nothing is just handed to you and it’s always important to do everything you can to succeed.” This is the mentality of Kaitlyn Dodds, and what she believes has helped her accomplish her goals. She also thinks this is helpful advice for others to succeed.
People change over time, and when Dodds was asked if her younger self would be proud of who she is today she said this, “I think my younger self would be proud because I was always a high achiever trying to get straight A’s and I still do that now.”
She thinks it is important to surround yourself with people that encourage you to do great things: “An ideal friend for me is someone who is kind and motivates me, friendships shouldn’t feel stressful, they should create a carefree environment.” She thinks friends should want what’s best for you and also want to see you succeed.
An accomplishment that Dodds made is currently being fourth in her class, and being extremely active in volleyball. Because of this she thinks people would describe her as determined.
A piece of advice Dodds would give to underclassmen is: “Don’t take anything for granted, I have done that, I took my freshman year for granted, I wanted to have more fun, but now I have too much school work, make sure to have fun while you can.”
